Colby has a strong background and history of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, serving most recently as the Associate Executive Director of The Hearing & Speech Center. He is a graduate of The University of Kentucky College of Law and practiced for three years prior to his joining The Hearing & Speech Center. Colby brings experience in a broad array of critical areas including fundraising, major gifts and grants, operations, human resources, and community outreach. He is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations, development, marketing, hiring and supervising full-time staff, board relations, and community relations.

Ms. Linda started her career in experiential education many years ago at the Orlando Science Center where she created programs for children and adults, all designed to enhance a sense of wonder about science of all kinds. She then went to work for the Walt Disney Company where she also created education programs in art, science and history. She was on the opening team for Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and became a Curator of Education where her job was focused on helping guests better understand how their actions affect the natural world and wildlife. She returned to her hometown of Lexington to be near family and directed a Montessori preschool for many years. Ms. Linda coordinates all enrichment programs for school groups, communicates with teachers about group visits, plans all special educational weeks. As a member of the education team, she teaches programs, enrichment programs, camps, and Field Trips To Go.

Marissa holds an undergraduate degree from Transylvania University. Her responsibilities include: supervision of the visitor services staff who provide customer service, membership/birthday/store sales, floor management; program planning and execution; exhibit maintenance; and patron experiences.

An Explorium Camp Leader will be responsible for leading children through hands on activities throughout the week. These activities have been pre-planned by the Explorium education team, and the Camp Leader will be provided instructions and have support from The Explorium Play & Learning Director. The Camp Leader is also responsible for the children’s safety and behavior management, with the support of the Explorium staff. The Camp Leader will also be responsible for assisting with check-in and check-out, clean up, and will need to interact with parents.
